Holiday calendar
🇪🇸 Public holidays in Spain
What a holiday means here
- On national holidays most shops close and public transport runs a Sunday timetable. Bars and restaurants usually stay open.
- Each region adds its own days, and each city adds one or two more. This page shows the Madrid region and the Basque Country; other regions differ.
- When a holiday falls on a Tuesday or Thursday, many people take the day in between off. Locals call it a puente, and hotels fill fast.
